nope, i was just thinking the same thing though. I was very impressed with there whole operation. Hopefully I get the phone call rather than the letter.

I interviewed on the 6th and heard back by about 2 pm on the 7th. I assume i'd be the same for you guys. Good luck!

btw.. are they interviewing for the Jan 8th class still?

hope this helps, and hope to see you guys in class!

Kind of early? You just had the interview yesterday, they will probably be out of business before they call you back. Good luck in class though, hopefully they do stick around, good place to work IMO

Let me get this straight:

You guys are hoping to get hired by a bankrupt airline, forcing pay/work rule concessions on its' employees, which also happens to be fighting for it's survival with its' only client?

Maybe you haven't heard any of the above, or maybe I just understood the Comair situation incorrectly. Last I heard a bunch of Comair CR7s went to SkyWest - were you under a rock when this happened?
One last thing, there may be a strike in the near future - have you thought about how this might pan out for you?

First off the interview is still a good experience. Second I am aware of the situation, but it seems things change daily at the regionals. Third is there anything wrong with going there and get through training and then apply to another company if things go south!

Hey there Mr. Enough total time, EMB 170 flying, civvy,
I dont believe the ? had anything to do with the state of Comair. It had to do with some excited applicants wanting to know if they are hired.

Oh yeah by the way guys the training dept. just announced they are looking for 60 a month for the next several months. Good luck

68 cvg fo slots on the secondary bids and 112 JFK Fo slots

bflying and RCA,

I'm not slamming anyone for applying and am not playing the "I'm better than you" bs.
I just don't understand why someone would want to go there at this point in time, with so many negative things happening to them. The folks at Comair, who struck for a better deal, deserve everyones' respect, however, I don't understand why anyone would want to go there today.
Losing aircraft, yet hiring = high attrition, which begs the question, why are people leaving?
I would imagine upgrade time at Comair is running at 5-6 years (I may be way off on that one), while you could probably get on with 9E and upgrade in far less time. Yes, I know Comair has better everything than 9E TODAY, but how about 1 year from now?
I would rather look into another industry than get on with Comair today - just how it looks from the outside looking in.

Taws the point Im trying to make is that while today things may look bad, a year from now who knows. For 2+ years management has been threatning shut down and AC transfer, yet they are going through the headache of an 1113 to throw out our contract. Let me ask you this would they be doing all this, and have kept us around for 2+ years just to shut the doors? Im not saying it wont or couldnt happen, However the 12 planes to Skywest you mentioned are only a few compared to the 100 or so they are plan on awarding. If Im not mistaken your EMB 170 is part of this Delta RFP?

Of course all of RAH/Delta flying is up for renewal. We all know that Delta could say goodbye to us.
My point was that things look especially grim at Comair right now. Mngt is ratcheting up the pressure and if Delta doesn't like the results, especially with your snapback looming and crew costs set to rise $8 mil, then Comair looks like the worst regional to join TODAY.

For those of you waiting to hear- the guys that interviewed last week and got called the next day probably is a function of the fact that they were trying to fill a class next week. The urgency may not be there, I'd just be patient. I think the next class isn't until Jan. 8th - but I could be mistaken.

There is a week or two gap in our new hire classes before we really ramp up starting in January (12ish per week). If you guys interviewed yesterday then it's possible that there is an interview today or tomorrow for the same class date as you guys are trying to fill. It's entirely possible that the company wants to do a second interview this week before deciding who to call. Good luck to everyone.

Comair...

You will be happy to know there will be a number of RAH guys walking the line with you for your informational picketing...

Its time we ALL show solidarity!!!!

Thanks for the post. It helps for those of us waiting for a response. I do know they were conducting interviews today and tomorrow. Perhaps we won't get a call until friday or early next week. I do believe they also have a class Jan. 1st they are trying to fill, as well as the 8th.

Roughly 55 crews, it's more senior than JFK but less senior on average than CVG. Because the base is small, there isn't a whole lot of movement right now - a few slots for each bid for both seats. We do have new hires going directly to GSO, though not as many as JFK or CVG. GSO is the least commutable base that we have, so unless you live somewhere with many flights going to GSO (like CLT or ATL), it would not be fun to commute to.

GSO is a small base which is probably a little more senior than CVG, but there have been a few recent newhires sent there. The majority of vacancies after the last bid are for JFK. There are some for CVG as well and a handfull for GSO.

Thanks for the insight guys...sounds like it may be possible to get out of trng or at the very least down the road thereafter. Good luck to all the guys waiting to hear.

congrats guys!!!! can't wait to see u guys in class :-D

good luck to everyone

I'm just curious, how much multi time (and total if your profile is old) did you guys have? I so want to send in an app, but my low multi time is killing me.

An ATP with ME rating and 3000 TT and 775 ME for me. Several high time mil guy's and a few other high time civ guy's in my interview group as well. Also some lower time guy's.
