Are you sick of all the Delta vs. Dci arguements?

I would like to request a new forum so that those that want to argue can but the rest of us don't have to read 40 posts in order to get one relevant one in most threads.

I think it is a valid discussion and it would be disingenuous to somehow moderate it. And it is entertaining for all of us who don't work there............

I too, am tired of DCI vs. Delta. You have three or four extremists on each side, and 70% of the threads get highjacked into an argument about DCI, DALPA, or RJDC.

Please spare us the First Amendment arguments.

I would submit that it is not a Delta vs. DCI issue, but rather that this issue affects all regional and mainline pilots. Who is going to do what flying, and whether or not ALPA has/is acting in a fair way? I would say that this affects all pilots ASA, CMR, DAL, AA, EGL, USAir, PDT, ALG, PSA, NWA, Mesaba, Pinnacle, CAL, XJT, etc. However, for some reason, ASA/CMR/DAL pilots are the ones who are most interested in this issue.

I do not think there is too much DAL/DCI talk. I think there is too LITTLE AA/EGL, USA/ALG/PDT/PSA, CAL/XJT, NWA/MESABA/PINNACLE,etc. talk. This affects ALL of us. Should we all continue status quo - or is it time to think outside of the box. Has the strategy of the past worked, and should it continue?

Keep it comming!

I for one like to hear the various sides and way of thinking. Maybe it's own section on this board would be OK. I am a little surprised that tbkane would be the starter of this thread though. If anyone needs to know the way people are swaying with DALPA it would be you. :p

Ditto to that.

I keep up through DALPA, but here I read to get info on other airlines. Reading the same tired arguements between us and the DCI group is old. If there is an update that is different. (see the letter posted from the Comair MEC on our DALPA board) good information is what I look for, not an arguement on how they deserve their jobs and we don't.

As would be expected, I agree with Inclusive Scope. It is no secret that I disagree with many if not most of the Delta pilots' views on the issue, but I still want to hear/read what they have to say.

Tbkane, it appears that you may be happy with the "DALPA" forum and the ALPA forums for two reasons. 1) most of the "opposition" to your point of view has no access to the dalpa forum, and 2) your peers outnumber the regional group by a wide margin on the alpa forum. I suppose it is natural that you prefer your own bias.

On this forum there is diversity and free access for everyone. Bravo to FlightInfo for that.

For those bored by the dialogue, there are many more threads on other subjects and an abundance of trivia for your entertainment. Just skip over whatever you don't like. It's easy.

To the others, keep in coming. Let's hear more from the EGL, ALG, PDT, Mesaba, PCL, ACA, XJT, TSA, SKYW, CHQ folks and from the UAL, AA, NWA, CAL, AAA constituency.

Uncle Leo must laugh himself each night, knowing how we're all at each others' throats. We all once thought Frank Lorenzo would be the nail in ALPA's coffin. Who'd have thought it'd be Delta/DCI management?
