Yesterday Comair's President held a meeting with the CEO's of Comair's cockpits. Appearently it didn't quite reach Doom and Gloom status, but there were no signs of relief from the new Leader.

Comair is to lose 8 aircraft in 2008 that are not going to be replaced.

DCI is going to lose 4000 hours by Spring. (he thinks that the hours will be distributed evenly throughout the DCI system.

Delta plans to cut the number of DCI carriers in half.

He wasn't aware that the recent upgrades were cancelled. (not sure if I buy that or not)

Does anyone have more to add.

BigSky is probably bringing in more newhires than Comair.

So....Who goes?

Guesses......CHQ's 145's and Freedom?

Does ExpressJet go?

Comair? ASA?

I doubt it's Skywest and ASA. JA made a deal when he bought ASA and gave Delta a much need infusion of cash.
And with the bulk of the SKYW 900's going to LAX it's only makes sense that XJET's LAX operations would diminish.

Doesn't look like Pinnacle. They have like a 10-15 year agreement now with Delta. I wonder what their DCI agreement says they have to be costwise? You know, the one that says ASA has to be the second lowest cost DCI carrier or we go bye bye! (Rolls eyes)

What happened to the blurb in the last concessionary novation that stated Comair had to maintain 90% of it's current fleet as of the date of signing? Does the loss of these airplanes still honor that stipulation?

CHQ's 145s are under a restructured contract signed when Delta came out of BK. This is the same agreement that has CHQ parking all the 135's slowly over the next year and swapping the current 170s for 175s. I believe the contract was thru 2015. I wouldnt doubt seeing the current 145s being swapped for more 170/175s.

Delta going back into bankruptcy was reported from the meeting as well. Jeesh, I hope the guy was exaggerating.

Yeah because you can just swap jets like nothing.

well XJT has another year or so on their CPA in LAX, and SKYW can fly out of LAX now as well....I'd plan on XJT being reduced when their CPA is up

Highly doubtful. Our balance sheet is doing very well and almost every analyst has a buy for the stock. I would like to see the transcript. Why would our CFO state we would be the ones acquiring another airline if we had to. We have the cash.

Bye Bye--General Lee

I see nothing in today's new to suggest Delta would go back into BK. Could we sometime in the future? Sure, maybe. Could all of the other airlines also go into BK? Sure, maybe.

Damn, dude.....

You don't remember that DAL's turnaround plan was based on @$75 or less crude. I am not happy about it either, but really, you don't remember that?

There is no truth to this rumor. I have seen nothing regarding any of this, and the only thing I have seen is that we MAY have a SMALL operating loss this quarter. We have been profitable the last two, and one of them was over $200 million in the profit category.

Also, our turnaround plan probably had that $75 or less crude, but we have added a fuel surcharge to most fares. As long as you add a fuel surcharge, it should not affect you that much. You know that.

If this came out of a DCI meeting discussing loss of DCI flying, I bet the speaker had to throw something in there to give some sort of a reason why Delta would be doing this. Regardless, the media doesn't know anything about that, hence the lack of any articles stating anything close.

Bye Bye--General Lee
