Most options expire worthless, so it only pays off in a few instances. Its a great way to put a little bit of money to work for a lot of gain. It's like margin, but there is no forced selling and you only lose what you paid for the option.


I'm a pilot, so I'm so poor my broker won't even approve me to trade puts and calls.
 
i've been trading quite a bit this year and done pretty well so far. i only trade stocks and i don't short. keeps it simple for a simple mind like mine. NBR has been a good one for me.

if you ask me, the money is made when u buy the stock not when u sell it. you need to buy at a good price or you'll be screwed.
