I am headed to Zurich for the WEF. Going to repo to LFPB. Anyone know what kind of a zoo Zurich will be? Fueling issues? I heard the day we are sched to arrive they are expecting 150 aircraft. I'll be in a g450. Just curious what others have to say.

Zurich

I will say that parking is an issue. Last year they parked us on a closed runway. I assume you will be using Jet Aviation. It is about a 15 min. ride to parking from the FBO. I will also say beware of getting ramp checked. It happened to us and apparently it is fairly common. However, there was no customs at all. I mean we did'nt even talk to a customs agent (other than getting the stamp at the FBO). Overall, a great trip. Try to stay downtown by the train station. It is a little pricey but well worth it. I give Jet Aviation an 8 out of 10 on service. And that is because they screwed up on our departure slot time. Of course, that really was Universal's fault. Oh yeah, I almost forgot.....APU is limited to 1 hour on the ground. Just a heads up.

The last time I did it they held to the exact slot time, which required sitting on the closed runway with pax for over an hour. The airport was quiet but they would not budge, AKA, "I call you back".

Never had a problem with the APU run time, even thought they continually mention it on the Jepps.

Never had a problem with fuel, Jet is good but you will need to give them a heads up.

I have heard about the SAFA checks but, they never bothered us. I would be up on what the SAFA check is and where your data is (NBAA has good intel)

Thanks L'iL P

Ditto to G4G5. Been to Zurich 4 times in the past year. No problemo with SAFA or APU.

But as always, be ready with the SAFA.

Also, when you clear the runway look for the follow me car. We did not see him once and by the time he caught up with you would have thought we hit his dog with the airplane. He was pissed.

I should have mentioned that the APU rule is documented but not usually enforced. My guess is it was Zurich's attempt to say "look at us, we're GREEN."

Also thought I should mention that there is some terrain in the area (Alps) and it would be good to figure out where it is before you get there.

Have a good trip!
