Mesa has 12 dash-8 that are being pulled off line from Freedom (Delta). Reliable source (CD) has confirmed that Mesa will be sending atleast 6 to compete against Island Air and Aloha by September. I can see it now, the JA to come, because how in the hell can anyone afford to work at Mesa and survive on th efo pay rates. Food stamps and low income houseing or better yet a tent.

I doubt they'll have a problem keeping pilots online there.

Two things hold true in this world. Someone will always do your job for cheaper and they usually have a rich daddy.

Can't wait for this. Will it be go! express-express? JO is gonna rule the world. First Hawaii, next....CHINA!

You complain about the Mesa F/O pay rates. I can name regionals that are worse...yeesh! Some people...

Interesting...

I thought JO was gonna bring EMB-195 to Hawaii and push us out of business...

Dash 8's now? Beautiful!

It's not the payrates so much as its the crappy contract that makes them the lowest paid for the equipment flown!!

They're still talking about that...

Sure....

First they better figure a way to fill up the 50 seaters that they are operating now. 60% load factor on 50 seaters equals what on a 170? I guess maybe their going to continue with their "lose as much money as humanly possible in Hawaii" business plan.

Either way you look at it, if they're flying DHC-8s and getting 60% load factor, that means that WP is losing 60% load factor. It cannot be a good thing if mesa ships Dashes to HI.

Besides, how much more crowded can it get at MKK and JHM? Already, you have MKK Air Shuttle (RIP), PW, goexpress (soon), FedEx feeder, helicopters, WP, small kine charters, general av and possibly more DHC-8s from Mesa? They'll be stacked up five high on bad days (or waiting for parking) holding at Boggee for the JHM approach.

If there was barely enough room to park 5 CRJ's, where would the Dashes go? Outstation basing in MKK?

Hey,
Wonder if these are United Dashes from DEN?
PBR

The Dashes will be from the JFK Fiasco called "FREEDOM". Dleta is replacing them with Erj and Crj and parking the Dashes. JO wants tp whore the Dashes instead of parking them. Remember this!

Leshorn stinks,
Mayfield sucks, BUT
JO SWALLOWS!

Anybody know how they get the Dash's out to Hawaii?

Do they add a couple of Aux fuel tanks?

Do they fly them all the way around and come up from the south?

Or do they box them up and ship them overthere?

After all its 2100nm from Cali to Maui.

Yeah, we have C172's flown out the same way. You need perfect winds to do it, but ask around on the ramp how we get Seminoles / Cessnas out there.
