It was at MEM the other day. I heard that Pinnacle mgmt got a ride. Not quite sure what their interest (if any) is in the airplane.

I for one would love to fly it. And I really wish the airlines would get the jets off the 20-30 minute flights. If props are all there is, the pax don't have a choice, and they will still fly. And a Q400 could easily be more comfortable than a CRJ200, ERJanything.

The reason I put it up was that the caption on the thumbnail photo which doesn't show on the link said it was in SJU to visit Executive or AE. It looks like bombardie (sp) is pushing the 400 big time as of late.

Our company checked it out too. They are doing some big sweep of the regionals from what I understand.

Been up for a week, SHHH, don't give them any ideas! It is aviation related after all. :D

I too would like to know where you got that pic from.

Is that one of Austin Powers' "sexy stews"? Or the b-roll from "View From the Top" with Gwynth Paltrow?

:p

THat plane was in MSP about a month ago. That doesn't mean NW, XJ or Suncountry are getting them. Probably just doing the marketing thing.

Company site said it was coming in form south american and asked to stop at our SJU base and do a demo flight. 2HR ground demo. And 60 Eagle managment pax went on a 1hr demo flight. No plans to buy any just a Q400 demo just like the rest of the airlines that will get a demo.

As great as an aircraft the ATR-72 is; they are getting old. The Dash8-400 would be a great replacement. But at what cost? My guess it would be cheaper for AE to keep the ATRs around till their airframe hours expire and then replace them with either the E135 or more used ATRS that still have time left on their airframes.

No ERJ is going to be able to carry the frieght that the ATR's do. Regional jets just won't work for the carribean flights period.

Eage will have to get something to replace the ATRs...evantually. But E135's??? Helllllll No. I don't see any chance of an E135 doing turns to Tortola all day.

I like that Dash 8-400....very sweet airplane.

The problem is there are no other ATRs to use. Fedex is buying almost all of them for freight. Amr will need something eventually to replace the ATR and the RJ is not the answer in SJU
