Hi,

Going to Dallas soon for Southwest interview and was curious where most interviewees are staying? The packet that was emailed to me suggested the Renaissance, Radisson, or the Holiday Inn. Any suggestions from folks that recently interviewed? For those with upcoming interviews, where are you planning on staying?

Thanks,

Chrtrplt

The Renaissance (sp?) is pretty nice... however, I recommend the Holiday Inn at Love Field. It's right across the street from the airport (closest)... and the shuttle people are cool. Plus... if you get hungry of whatever, theres a sportsbar connected to the hotel... and best of all... there's a QT. (quicktrip) is a mini-mart style gas station next door to the hotel, that has the best coffee I have ever had. GOOD LUCK!

Renaissance. Hands down.

Be aware, the interviewers (line pilots and check airmen) stay there also, so if you end up eating in the bar (good bar, GREAT steaks, kinda pricey, but fantastic!), be on your best behavior.

Holiday Inn Select at Love. Less visiblity from the people who may be interviewing you, most likely will get the food discounts..I did when I interviewed. The new hires stay here and you may run into someone who could put in another letter for you....The best....free drinks from 5-6 every night.

Holiday Inn hands down. All the new classes are there so you can mix with them and much less likely to run into anyone interviewing you. Decent bar with discounts (I got them too) and everyone is exceptionally friendly. I stayed at the Ren during the SWA open house this summer...more upscale, but not as friendly or casual in my opinion. Good luck.

I interviewed in January and stayed at the Raddison. It was nice but it sounds like the other two might be better. Ask for the SWA rate. When I interviewed there was some kind of trade show in town and the room rate was $300/night at the Renaissance.

Renaissance - That's where I stayed. Paid $189. Some people get the SWA rate which is less than half. Good steak place in the hotel. Upscale hotel. Might run into some SWA higher-ups there. I see that as a positive.
Holiday inn - Free beer. A few dozen new hires will be there to give you gouge. Guaranteed from 5-6 pm there will be a table of dudes around 30-50 in age with short haircuts, polo shirts, jeans and tennis shoes. About a mile to Headquarters. If the bus breaks down, you can walk. Food/sundries nearby.

Thanks everyone for the responses. The Rennaissance is a little out of my price range at a little over $200 and that is with a discount. I think I'm going to give the Holiday Inn a try.

Thanks again.
