DAL to buy NWA ?!?!?! Rumor

I was in recurrent and the word was DAL has went in and bought out NWA. It will be announced in the next 2 weeks. The Mesaba Avros look to be goingout the door and there are also talks of Comair or SkyWest taking them over. This is not factual, just upper XJ mgmt talking. Anyone else hear anything like this? What would happen to XJ PCL???? Also, would the MEM hub close for NW, since ATL is so close?

This has been tried and rumored for years. It is almost an urban legeond. This would have to pass by the goverment for approval, which would not happen in my opinion. The governement didn't even want to agree to our three way codeshare with NWA, CAL and DAL.

Now seeing this post is in the regional section are you refering to DAL buying another regional carrier that now flys for NWA. God knows Leo loves RJ's.

Anyway this is peer rumor nothing more nothing less.

Since this is coming from XJ management it is probably just another story they are spreading to try and distract us from the goal, a contract that we deserve. A contract that includes succesorship and fragmentation language.

I heard this rumor from various mainline Delta rampers for the last couple of weeks...rampers are usually the first to know and pilots are the last.
