Anyone else being held up at DAL by the shrink/MMPI? Tell me what you know. I hear the review panel is sympathetic to the pilot candidate, but who knows.

I have a buddy who went through this process. This is what I THINK are the facts of the process. If I am incorrect, I am sure someone will correct me quickly. He got a letter telling him that he failed the shrink and was going to the pilot applicant review board. If memory serves they only hold the board when they have X number of people to review. Basically, it sounded like it was 50/50 as to the adjudication of the board. My friend was not successful.

Good luck. I hope it goes your way.

The MMPI is for the most part an "honesty test". I am not saying this, the proctor and the shrink himself told us. This test is designed to get your personality profile, sure, but also, to see how honest you are within yourself. Out of the 500+ questions, about 20 of them should take more than a few seconds, and that's where people get in trouble. They keep trying to outsmart the system, don't do it. Answer the questions at a "rapid' pace, and move on.

Will fly for food has great advice, and Airinc has an outstanding prep, specially for the cognitive test, I couldn't imagine taking that test without their prep.

Good luck.
