The thought that Delta would purposely put itself in a horribly expensive situation with the fuel hedge debacle in order to get closer to insolvency and get its ONLY labor group to capitulate is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of on this board.

You don't seriously believe that, do you? I throw rocks at management from time to time like everyone else but nobody at the G.O. is that stupid or arrogant.

Time to don the mask dude, I think you're getting hypoxic or something! :)

Clearly, you don't know some of the people in DL's management.

But if my reason is wrong, why would they sell the hedges? There was absolutetly NO REASON to sell them otherwise.

You don't think management isn't going to try to make things as bad as possible in order to ensure they maximize concessions. DL management knows they've really only got one shot to make this happen and get all they can.
