Virgin Group is holding discussions with Delta Air Lines President and COO Fred Reid about heading up its planned US low-fare airline, according to Reuters, which quoted a story in the Financial Times. The report said Virgin has narrowed its search to three US airline executives. Many expected Reid to succeed Leo Mullin, who retired as Delta's CEO Jan. 1. However, board member Gerard Grinstein was appointed to lead the airline (ATWOnline, Nov. 25).

Intresting!

Virgin Blue

The LCC Branson started in Australia really shook things up in the South Pacific. Prices plummeted, routes increased, service got better, mind you there wasn't much competition down that way before. I had the chance to fly Virgin Blue a few times, much like southwest with better looking flight attendants!
