LOS ANGELES, Jan 12 (Reuters) - The federal judge presiding over the bankruptcy hearings of Delta Air Lines Inc. (DALRQ.PK: Quote, Profile, Research) has stepped down from the case permanently, according to the court.

Judge Prudence Carter Beatty took medical leave from the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York on Monday for two months, and the case was reassigned to her colleague Judge Adlai Hardin.

The court's Web site said in a notice dated Wednesday that Beatty was terminated from the case, which had been reassigned to Hardin.
Delta, the No. 3 U.S. carrier, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in September. The Atlanta-based airline has said it needs $3 billion in revenue hikes and cost savings to survive.
A hearing in Beatty's courtroom was scheduled for Jan. 19.

Hardin was named a federal bankruptcy judge in 1995. Prior to his appointment, he was a partner in the New York firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy.

I guess she shouldn't have been running her mouth offering her opinions. Violates judicial code of conduct, canons of ethics and is unprofessional. Perhaps it's time for her to retire before she is disbarred.

Does anyone have a past history on this guy? General? Anyone? Bueler?

I think he started as a judge in '95. He is known apparently to keep the parties negotiating and get it over with quickly. We shouldn't have to deal much with him thanks to TA 50. I doubt he will change much of what was said from Beatty, but who knows?

Bye Bye--General Lee
