Gotta have it......sorry. No one I know has gotten a call without one. I talked to BB about an excellent candidate that was a few classes short. He played pro sports then got injured and learned to fly, got married, had a family, and didn't get a chance to finish his last school year. 10000 hours, lots of pic, check airmen, lots of internal recs, and I was told no dice till the degree is done.

Yep, and the new ones strive to be everyone's "favorite" Captain. As one progresses in their leadership as a Captain, they realize that being the "favorite" is not the goal to strive for. Being an effective leader that listens to criticism, as well as input is where one should strive to be.
