Can someone tell me about this airplane? I think it's a small, twin engine business jet. Isn't there a small, plane....I think it's the "Katana" with the same designation? Anyway, I'm interested in the jet. If anyone knows of a link to a website where I could et more info. that would really help as well.

Thanks.

yep, and it's still wrong in your "aircraft experience" listing. :)

I always just thought he was full of $hit. Wonder what a Falcon 40 would look like anyway...Maybe the 20/50 fuselage, with the 900 wing?

Falcon 20, slowest swept wing jet you can fly, unless you have the Garrets.

But it does fly nice.

but it looks good

And you build flight time faster becasue it takes you longer to get there. Great resume stuff!

I'm lookin' at a 20 job right now. Nice cabin, 2.5 hours of range max. Matches nicely with my bladder's max range...Hope I get it.

Just curious, what model gets 2.5 hrs max range?

I have 3.5 flight 3.9 block in a CF-700 DA-20 a couple of times.

I just did a 4.2 flight 4.4 block leg with 2100lbs remaining. (we were empty and topped it off). That's in an aircraft with the Garret engines (it's also a 20F-5).
See, never having flown the lear, I've got to say that the DA-10 is the corvette...but I definitely agree that the DA-20 is the cadillac!

If I really wanted to build time, I would do it in a DC-3, now that is real flying. Sweep wing bird also, 10 degrees. That is why the crusie speed is so high in the DC-3, 125 Kts IAS. Why at 10,000' that is nearly 150 KTS TAS.

Dassault Mystere Falcon (Falcon 20)

Pilotyip,

You and I know those old girls will go a lot farther than most folks give them credit for. You just have to fly the Performance Manual numbers.

I flew a D Model (cargo version with CF-700-2-D) from Goose to Kef one day. 03+47 flight, 1382NM with 65 knots push. The Jetplan was right on for LRC at FL370. BGBW, BGSF, BIKF and BIRK were all VFR and I slid into BIKF with just under 1,800 pounds remaining. We had 2 spare engines in the cargo hold with all the tools necessary for an engine change, flight crew plus a mechanic on the jumpseat. It was no sweat at all. Well, no sweat except for the long range nav failure outbound from LOACH to 58N-50W. We managed, however.

Another day I flew a BASIC airplane with TFE-731s from VNY to TEB, non-stop. Again about 65 knots on the tail, VFR in the New York area and a cold day.

Outstanding airplane the 20 is, at least with the 731-5BRs on an F model conversion. That's a sweet old airplane and I miss them greatly.

Fact is I just applied for a DA50 job and a GIV job. The GIV job will pay more but I actually hoping I get the DA50 gig. It's a DA50-EX and a pretty good schedule to boot!

Fingers crossed,

TransMach

My bladder can't do 2.5 either...after one trip with me, the Captain would never look at another liter bottle of "Aquafina" the same.

Oh yeah, don't worry about your bladder range...there's an enclosed lav on the 20's.

Wow. it really is a new year. FNFAL and I agree on sompthin'.
I do enjoy your posts bruthah...
