Dassault Mystere Falcon (Falcon 20)
Pilotyip,
You and I know those old girls will go a lot farther than most folks give them credit for. You just have to fly the Performance Manual numbers.
I flew a D Model (cargo version with CF-700-2-D) from Goose to Kef one day. 03+47 flight, 1382NM with 65 knots push. The Jetplan was right on for LRC at FL370. BGBW, BGSF, BIKF and BIRK were all VFR and I slid into BIKF with just under 1,800 pounds remaining. We had 2 spare engines in the cargo hold with all the tools necessary for an engine change, flight crew plus a mechanic on the jumpseat. It was no sweat at all. Well, no sweat except for the long range nav failure outbound from LOACH to 58N-50W. We managed, however.
Another day I flew a BASIC airplane with TFE-731s from VNY to TEB, non-stop. Again about 65 knots on the tail, VFR in the New York area and a cold day.
Outstanding airplane the 20 is, at least with the 731-5BRs on an F model conversion. That's a sweet old airplane and I miss them greatly.
Fact is I just applied for a DA50 job and a GIV job. The GIV job will pay more but I actually hoping I get the DA50 gig. It's a DA50-EX and a pretty good schedule to boot!
Fingers crossed,
TransMach
