I had one of those letters in my box the other day. It referenced a flight 3 weeks ago. Dear CA, Can you tell me why flight 4123 was late? It was coded as a crew delay. I just threw it away. I can't remember why yesterday's flight was late, not one three weeks ago.

Bingo! Just throw it away. ASA has been blaming crews for every problem for yeeeaars.

Deep down management knows the crews aren't the problem, but they are powerless to fix the real problems. Why not just blame the whiney crews who are bit.ching for a new contract? FA's are just cannon fodder, so why not punish them for things totally out of their power. This has always been the ASA way.

In the end late is late and Delta won't care who is really at fault. If/when DAL makes a fundamental change in the DCI portfolio, they won't care what the specific delay code is.

I don't know of any captains that have been called on the carpet for a delay. The day they start doing that WILL be the day this place shuts down.
John,
It's true, they are getting forms in their boxes asking why they had a delay. I have seen the form.
