Need to know whom to contact to acqurie a bond. Local customs office had no idea, but I've got to have one!!!!

From Customs website:

"Where can I get a bond?

Treasury Department Circular 570, which is published annually, is a list of Treasury approved, certified surety companies. The most current list of Treasury authorized companies is available through their Web site at http://www.fms.treas.gov/c570/index.html. In addition, applicable laws and regulations are also available at the same site."

Expect to pay a premimum of 10% of the bond amount. We were told the bond would be based on $5000/seat + 5000 for the operator = $50,000 on a seven seat (all) aircraft. Our local Customs office was willing to lower it to $30,000 based on the amount of international arrivals (we told them less than 10/year). I still am a little hazy on the proper procedure to follow (our insurance agent/bond broker were not very knowledgeable and took a couple of months to sort out) but I do have alot of refernce material if you are interested.

Ah can't multiply tonight. I meant 9 seat aircraft (7 pax). Minimum of $75,000 for 14 seats or more.
