Anyone able to offer any CURRENT info on Custom Air Transport ? Working conditions, schedules, bases, quality of mtc, etc. Thanks.

Well, not much really, but for what it is worth, I know a guy that got on there as a B-727 capt 2 months ago.

He worked there 5 years ago as an F/O, then left and now back.
They had an accident some time ago, flew into a mountain in Tibet while doing a LH contract for Air India Cargo, or vice versa...
Used to know some guys that worked there from the beginning, but lost touch.

A good friend of mine works for CAT and is doing anything to get a new job.

CUEBOAT,

Can you be a bit more specific ? Lots of people could make the same statement.

CAT has no schedule, no bids, no seniority, no benefits (soon to come however), no raises, & no base (unless you call FLL base). MX is ok, but nothing special. Currently have 18 jets, and are supposed to expand to 25 by the end of the year. There is a lot of hiring going on and attrition has been minimal this year. Pay is $85/hr CA, $47.50/hr FO, $45/hr FE, $50/hr PFE, based on a 60 hours and 18 days per month. Over 18 days per month, either 2 hours or block time each day, whichever is higher as overtime. Per Diem is $30 domestic and $50 international. Most people are out 18-25 days at a time with 4-12 days off until the next cycle. 100/30 will get you sent home for sure. Company will pay for airfare to meet the plane, go home, or fly into DAY. Company pays for hotel during initial and upgrade training, but not recurrent. There are a few Super27's in the fleet, 10 -7's, and a few -9, -15, and -17 birds. Most people are either building time, or inbetween jobs. Not too many people want to stay for long. Hope this helps.
