I find it odd, that only a couple of people have found the time to place a post on this forum, for Curtis Pitts. I guess my beard is too grey. Curtis Pitts was a very important influence in a segment of aviation history. Actually, I find it very sad that today's pilot (not aviator, but pilot) has no sense of where he or she came from. Granted, Curtis had about zero influence on today's transportation, but let there be no mistake, his influence and personality was paramount in sport aviation.
The first airplane that I ever rolled on take-off was a Pitts. I survived. THANK YOU Curtis Pitts for the biggest thrill that I have ever had. ............I think that Betty Skelton, Caro Bailey, Charlie Hilliard, Bob Herendeen, Gene Soucy, and God knows who else will ( or would have) thank you.
Curtis Pitts made a mark in aviation, which is a bunch better than either you or I will ever make. May he point roll thru heaven.
