on apps, resumes, etc. does everyone use the defined x-c time(landing at another airport) or do you use the 50NM rule? Basically my XC time without the 50NM is 500 more than with. Which one should I use for apps and resumes?

For the purposes of ATP 50 NM or more

For the purpose of 135 or 121, point to point as long as you used some form of navigation( dead reckoning, pilotage, or radio nav)

for apps and resumes though

yep, i m curious what kind of xc time people use for resumes and applications though. i am assuming people use the airport to airport rule for apps and resumes, not the 50NM.

thanks

I would suggest for Part 135 resumes use point to point. Because alot of 135 companies look to see if you meet 135 IFR PIC mins.

For Part 121 resumes I would use 50 NM rule. They don't care that much about CC time. Some just want to see how long it will take to get ATP mins which are captain mins in 121. They know by the time you upgrade you'll have well over 500 CC PIC 50NM or more.
