Bombardier Aerospace Launches 100-Seat CRJ1000 Regional Jet

This news was published on Monday, February 19th, 2007 and is archived under Business & GA.
Montréal, February 19, 2007 - Bombardier announced today the launch of its CRJ1000 regional jet, the next major step in the evolution of the CRJ Series aircraft family, the world’s most successful family of regional aircraft. Program launched with firm orders, conditional orders and options for more than 60 aircraft. Deliveries to begin in the fourth quarter of calendar year 2009. Previously designated the CRJ900X jet, the CRJ1000 regional airliner is designed specifically to meet the needs of growing regional airlines for jets of up to 100 seats, with a focus on extremely low operating costs and improvements to cabin comfort.

"These aircraft are now the backbones of many airline fleets worldwide," said Pierre Beaudoin, President and Chief Operating Officer, Bombardier Aerospace."

I think "El Presidente" Pierre is is smokin more crack than President f#ckhead Bush.

Big Fcukin Deal. 2 1/2 years to stick a 7 foot plug in 900.

Yes...its also a 10% increase in the number of people standing in the isle that can't feel their legs....:(

This won't work out. Boeing on the 717 couldn't justify it. I doubt these guys could. Maybe I'm just old fashioned but I'd rather have a product with Boeing on it. Kinda like a Sony TV vs a ilio or whatever. You just know which one's gonna put out the better product.

I bet that failed because they, Boeing, wanted to much money for a 100 seat aircraft where as Bombardier will be significantly less.

Just another POS from a company with no clue. How lame can they get? Seriously, look at EMB, at least they have some sort of vision. Bombardier still has a hard on over their Challenger which I agree is a great airplane. But their regional jet is just plain crap.

I can tell you right now that unless is has less than 76 seats it will be flown by main line. It will be for horrible pay, but they will not give this one up. IMHO

Delta won't buy it and nobody else is going to fly it for them. If there is a 100 seat plane at Delta, it will be a E190 or some new design from someone else and it'll be flown by mainline pilots, as it should be.
