In the hope of salvaging what was turning into a pretty informative thread...

I think the "CRJ vs ERJ Type" thread got corrupted by the msg board code. New replies are showing up in the middle of the thread instead of the end.

Perhaps we can continue here.

46517
221 MRW to MTOW
5717 a side.

The WSCoD is pretty easy to fly as long as it's not Dumping Engines on you thanks to busted FPMU's.

Passengers hate it on long flights though. Overheard during deplaning on my last 4 day:

"Do they make these things any smaller"

"God this is a small plane"

"These seats have no padding"

"why is this such a small plane?"

"I'm too big for this thing"

Can't say that I have too much sympathy for them, as they probably paid 200 or less for their tickets. You can't even pile into the Chevy Cavalier and drive from Houston to Huntsville for that much. At least they have nicer windows to look out of than the CRJ.

It would suck badly to be a FA on an RJ too. "Sorry sir, plese leave that bag by the door, plese leave that bag by the door, please leave that bag by the door, please leave that bag by the door........"

I think the engines on the EMB "E" motor are ISA +19 C. What are they on the CRJ? I forgot but I think it was quite a bit less (it was on the Challenger I think any way).

to the best of my knowledge its ISA +35 on the ERJ as well....

What are the ratings for the XR? It is an "E" engine I thought. On the Legacy we are ISA +19. Don't recall what the "P" was for sure. Too long ago!! :)

I get lots of things confused comparing so many planes but seem to recall the Challenger 600 series losing rated power at much lower temps than the "E" engine. Coulda' been the Hawker. Maybe both. LOL.

My AOM/AFM in hand is Legacy-specific and doesn't tell me anything about the RJs so I can't look it up.

An interesting thing is that the ERJ had 5717 lbs per side in the LR. The Legacy, with the same wing (and added winglets) is 5680ish per side. Never did find out if the XR was listed like that or as the LR for wing fuel capacity.

Anyone care to share?

Max Temperature for all ERJs we fly (135ER/LR, 145ER/EP/LR/XR) is ISA +35. That includes the A1, A1/3, A1P, and A1E engines. I believe all of the A1 engines on our ER/EP's have had the FADEC software updated to A1P status at this point. In addition, the Max Zero Fuel Weights and Max Gross Landing Weights have been increased on the ER's, usually allowing us to fill them to capacity unless a distant alternate is required or we need to carry much more than 2000 lbs of cargo.

Usable fuel for the XR: 5,628 lbs in each wing, 1863 in the ventral tank, for 13,119 pounds total. I guess you don't have a ventral tank on the legacy.

The XR is equipped with the Rolls Royce AE3007A1E engines, rated at 8810 lbs of max t/o thrust per engine, ISA +19 "Flat Rate". The ISA +19 isn't any kind of limitation (at least not that I'm aware of). I assume it simply means that it will not necessarily produce 8810 pounds at temps above +19.

Fuel capacity on the 135-ER and 145-ER/EP is 4,546 lbs/side
On the 135/145LR it's 5,628 lbs/side
Already mentioned the XR.

Right so my question would be, what is the flat rated thrust available to, temp-wise, on the CRJ?

ISA +19 on the "E"... What's the CRJ equivalent?
