ATC transponder question; Does ATC1 only transmit (Mode C) the left (CA) altimeter and ATC2 transmit the right (FO) altimeter?

OR

Does the Flight Director in use send the altimeter readout to the selected transponder?

Example. If ATC1 is in use and the FO is the flying pilot and the Capts altimeter is 100 ft higher than the FOs, is ATC getting a readout 100 ft high?

Clear as mud? Also Systems Gurus, please source the FCOM or Pilot Reference Manual or other soruce. Page numbers, etc....

Thanks.

PRM pg.17-17:

"When ATC 1 transponder is selected it uses altitude information from ADC 1 to respond to mode C and S interrogations. ATC 2 receives altitude information from ADC 2."

ADC 1 is the pilots side, ADC 2 co-pilots.

Peace!
