If the 10th Bleed Switches are selected open and the 10 isol. open, the APU LCV will be closed anyway even before you start because of the APU LCV interlock protection. The start logic will still take place, but the APU LCV will not open. Hopefully, you'd notice this because the airplane will be really hot with the APU running (no air to the packs). On a crossbleed start, 10th stage bleed switch position doesn't matter, because their positions are selected automatically during the start sequence.

Humm... I swear I've hit the start switch and nothing has happened before (on a normal start using the APU). Could it be the APU LCV or the 10th stage Isolation valve was closed?


If you have either of the 10th stage valves selected open, the APU LCV will not open, due to the interlock function of the LCV. The ISOL valve is automatic during start.
 
Here is a question for the CRJ Whizzes..

Why does the 10th Stage have 2 fire loops and the 14th stage only have 1?

The book says "to increase dispatch reliablilty" but I what is the REAL answer...
