I work at FEDEX...it's not a big deal to me.
However, that being said...in todays day and age, would it be so hard to have a biometric fingerprint system at the security checkpoints at most major airports? All you would really need is one per terminal. Maybe we could also have a breathalyzer attached to it just for idiots amoungst us.
I know that everyone will scream about the costs, however...if we started at the larger hubs, then moved on to midsize airports it might spread the costs out. At smaller airports, crews could just access the system the way we do today.
That being said...if this is the biggest fish that ALPA national feels we have to fry....well...what am I thinking.....it Ops normal in Herndon.
