Boo Hoo, get a mop and wipe up your tears.

I invite you to enjoy our "glorious" lifestyle....we've already done yours. You'll see what we mean. When you get here. BTW, your "boo-hoo" can be shed for the many who DIE b/c of fatigued crews (such as Little Rock as example).
It's not whining when it becomes a safety issue.

I know Terry, that's the way I picture them when they make me mad!

You should see how I picture them when they make me mad LOL!
Actually I get to the "fishbowl" here-and-there. The only ones who look busy consistently are the dispatchers and MX control people.
I'm not saying anything about all schedulers, just the ones like Sarge who think that peoples lives are his personal toy.

ok...i have come to a "revelation" i was speaking w/ a crew scheduler...the same one in fact who originally pissed me off and i realized that it wasn't her fault at all. as a matter of fact she told me how she just got in trouble yesterday for helping people out. thanks to her boss she can no longer do anything except the current operation stuff. so why is it that WH is so dead set against us??? negotiations??? get us while they can??? she said this isn't the first time she's gotten in trouble like this. it's not as though she does anything illegal but simply b/c she helps and tries to be friendly. she HAS been there for 3 yrs and she's sick and tired of putting up w/ management's BS. she even said she was gonna quit cuz the only reason she stayed for as long as she has is for the people she can help and now they've taken that away. she was pretty upset. why do we not have more open/honest/friendly people in scheduling??? and the few we have are getting beaten for it...this is so wrong.

No Sarge, we know that you do have a reason for what you do and it has a lot to do with your signature line. When an exhausted crew buries an RJ in the dirt with 74 people you will simply move on to another job.

I have never seen a group of people with so little regard for safety, employee morale, and just good common sense as crew schedulers. When we vote to strike, it will be the direct result of the fear and anger generated by crew scheduling.

Enjoy your power to abuse good, honest, hard working, pilots who move this airline while you have it.

BRAVO!!!!

Somtheing I have said often on these boards. There is a DIRECT economic impact to generating good will amongst your employees. Jet Blue and SW recognize this, and work overtime to nurture it---amazingly these are also PROFITABLE airlines.

ASA couldn't care less about the attitude, or morale of employees. Consequently, no one will go the extra mile for the company, instead there is a constant chatter of "that's not my job." Rightfully so.

This tells you ASA management is more interested in their egos and power, then in making money. If people were treated as valuable assets, rather than hostile liabilities, this company could really turn a buck.

For the life of me I can't figure out why scheduling isn't forced to be more organized. I am convinced that inept scheduling costs ASA millions of dollars every year. Not to mention a complete lack of good will, which makes problem child pilots (like me) argue EVERY time I talk to them, no matter what.

I honestly don't understand it.

You're half-right. I just read an article about JetBlue trying to get the FAA to RAISE the daily scheduled flying time to 10 hours. In an A320 I guess thats doable over 3 legs. But imagine what Mesa, Trans States, ASA, and so on would do if they had us for 10 hrs of scheduled flight. We'd all be doing 10 legs again.

If the rule is written properly, then the number of legs would be a maximum of 3! That would eliminate the crap.
