You Guys really get Food supplied to you??

Yup, at no cost to us. There aren't food courts at FBOs, so the options are either let us go get food and keep the plane parked for a couple of hours, or send food to us at the airport. (If we have several hours of downtime they'll tell us to go find food ourselves with a crew car, but that's uncommon.)

For the meals we get at NJA, the quality varies depending on the vendor, and there isn't a ton of variety. But you get a free meal in exchange for keeping a multimillion-dollar machine moving a little more during the day. I'd say the company gets the better end of the deal, believe me!

No idea what the crew meals involve at the other fractionals, although I understand that CitationShares deducts $10 from your per-diem for every crew meal you get.

Greaaattt! We get to join our union cousins on the fixed crew meal plan in about 10 days. All domestic, Mexico, and Carribbean flights are subject to the fixed menu but Hawaii, Alaska, and to/from other International will be crew choice. And we even get to order it ourselves on the gizmo! Woo-hoo!:uzi:

We don't either ... YET! The companies time is coming, were they will pay dearly for violations of policy/contract.

I've been flying corporate and '135 for the past few years and there were times I was so starved I was tempted to kabonk a frac guy over the head to steal his turkey on whole wheat.

Food is not a benefit, it’s one of you necessities … So your willing to fly when you’re physiologically unfit (starved)? Not me.

I have no problem paying for my meals out of my per diem, but I need a place to spend the money. It was a lot easier flying 121 … you could just run inside the terminal and get a bit to eat. Let me know how that works when you have 1 hour in, say, Greensboro, GA. It doesn't, so hit me with a crew meal, preferably one that is edible.

It was a lot easier flying 121 … you could just run inside the terminal and get a bit to eat. Let me know how that works when you have 1 hour in, say, Greensboro, GA. It doesn't, so hit me with a crew meal, preferably one that is edible...

I will say this: The crew lunch I got out of Greensboro, GA, a few weeks ago was one of the best ones I've had in a long time! Really tasty. I generally have better luck with the smaller caterers than in our company's "high-volume locations."

I'm just dying to go through Chattanooga again to get their BBQ. Yummmmm....

My point exectly ... were do you eat if you have a short sit and there is not a restaurant on the field. I agree about the smaller places. Personally, San Luis Abispo has been the best for me ... great food, hot FBO girls and always a free shirt or hat.
