Hilton Garden Inn in Anchorage is used by a few airlines. Fridays, Golden Corral, and Starbucks are next door, with Applebees and a steak place across the street. You can walk to Walmart/movies and other places to eat. The shuttle will take you downtown or pretty much anywhere you want to go.

Free high speed internet, shuttle to airport, breakfast you can buy (we pay $5 (discounted) for a huge breakfast), nice rooms. About 8 minutes from the airport.

AWA uses the Hotel Captain Cook in ANC - pretty nice hotel - only downside is only 12 or so channels on the TV - kinda sucks when you're there in December.

And it's pretty close to Bush Company ;)

CAL YVR hotel - Inn at False Creek (Quality Inn). not real fancy, but very nice staff and a decent location. short walk to Granville Island ferry landing. short walk to nice beach area. $10 cab gets you just about anywhere in the city from there. also, a decent bus system. this is the long layover hotel.

short layover YVR is Delta Hotel near the airport. decent place with a bus terminal right out the front door. isolated from downtown, but a 20 minute bus ride gets you there for $3 Canadian.

wonderful town. you won't spend much time in the hotel, so try not to be too picky. Vancouver has lots to offer and i never get enough time there.

not sure about ANC hotel...

Good luck in ANC this month or next. It is high tourist season. I was just there and there were no rooms anywhere. Well, $606 at the Millenium.

You won't find a cheap hotel in ANC till after Labor day. Even the Motel 6 is around $170. It's peak travel season. After Labor day prices are cut in half till around June 1st. Even airlines that have contracts with hotels find that when they arrive in town they are not going to the "normal" hotel and are shipped to a different local that had available rooms.

Sanchez:

I stay up in ANC a lot on business. I prefer the Anchorage Grand. Nice big room, great location, small hotel. No restaurant; however, it is right downtown and surrounded by places to eat. My backups are the Voyager and the Inlet Tower. Voyager is a good location also but the Inlet is about four blocks outside of the city core.

I stay for a week at a time so I prefer the small, easy to navigate places with big rooms. All of these have high speed net.

I just got back from the Hotel Capatain Cook in ANC. It's pretty booked up for the summer though. You can sometimes get a pretty decent crew rate there. Check out Rumrunner's while in town...only a few blocks away.

Inlet Towers and The Longhouse have good crew rates. We pay $99/$54 (summer/winter) at the Inlet and $89/$49 at the Longhouse. Both have shuttles and I've never had a problem getting someone to take me to the gym or F St. Our operating crews stay downtown at the Hilton.

YVR...La Soleil. It's downtown, reasonable rates for season, good bar/restaurant...and conveniently located right next door to Brandy's!!
