Hello.

I was flying today (Tue, 5.11.04) from MI-OK.

Soon after crossing the MI/OH border, we heard a woman screaming on the radio, I assume on 121.5.

I'm not 100% sure that she was on guard because we were listening to 3 frequencies at the time, but I assume that's where she was.

She keyed the mike and made an awful screaming/wailing noise into it. The first thing I thought of was that her plane was going straight down into the ground and she was screaming in terror.

I felt really bad because I couldn't do anything about it at all. She didn't give a call sign, location, or say anything intelligible.

Then, towards the end of the trip, I got a call. The caller told me about the American who was beheaded in Iraq, and I felt about the same way.

It was a major bummer to feel so upset twice in a day. I sure don't like hearing bad news like that.

My prayers go out to the families of these two people, and anyone else that has suffered a loss like they did.

PS-Does anyone know anything about an airplane crash in the N. OH/N. IN/S. MI area? I would like to find out if there was a crash, or if I just seriously misinterpreted what I heard on the radio. I hope I was wrong.
