Any more info on these guys
Hey I sent my resume off to these guys through avianation a few days ago and recieved an email to call HR and fill out pilot application. The were advertisiing for ground and flight personnel. Well I called and spoke with HR, some lady put me on hold then after a couple minutes a guy answers. I say who I am and why I called, he takes a couple of seconds and says I have you resume right here. (Now I didn't check here until today about them, my bad). He said they have been trying to keep it secret the last year while everything got into place. Now he said they just started a class November 6th and another is starting November 27th, and that operations commence December 14th. He said they are going with 10 Chieftans but have 46 aircraft on order with the majority being F28's and EMB-120's because I asked about the jetstream on the webpage. He said the had some J41's but decided to go with EMB and F28's. Now according to what is on avianation, it says pilot bases Islip, NY, Binghamton, NY, New Haven-Tweed CT, and Allentown, PA. This guy said that the plan is 1000 pilots by 1 year from start becasue they plan on being a stand alone regional. He kinda pushed to get the application done and sent in to their office to continue the process becasue thats where the interviews are coming from. They get the background checks and everything done ahead of time which I question some, I know 121 operators are suppose to have it done before employment is started and 135 operators within 90 days of start, but I dont think I have heard of the PRIA and other checks done before you even interview. Now if all is true then its an interesting prospect since they are pretty much apearing to duplicate Cape Air in one aspect but on a larger scale and the minimums for F/O's on avianation was 300 hours with 125 multi preferred. Speaking of Cape Air, the add also showed they were hiring ground personnel in Boston. The comments about the postings being cut and pasted from Pinnacle and other companies makes sense becasue the Captain requirements repeats multienigne time with 2 separate times, first 500 then 200, which the 200 reads exactly like Cape Air's recruitment about ATP with 200 multi preferred. After reading this I will hold of on my app and do the same as other did, check with the FSDO's in those areas. Now if anybody else gets some info please post it here, we have it bad enough when companies dont want to pay us squat, now to have someone that could out to ruin what little financials we may have. However if it really is true, then great, getting in on the ground floor would be great for any pilot, build time or senority or both and let the good time roll. Fly safe out there.
