Court upholds injunction against United pilots

Dayton Business Journal

An injunction against United Airlines pilots for organizing "sick-outs" has been upheld by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Northern District of Illinois, according to a report from Reuters.
The injunction, issued in November, was against the Air Line Pilots Association and four individual pilots for what was termed "a deliberate, organized and unlawful campaign of sick leave abuse, pilot intimidation and other actions" that resulted in the cancellation of hundreds of flights.
United blamed organized "sick-outs" for the cancellation of 329 flights from July 19-27, 2008, resulting in the loss of $8 million in revenue and $3.9 million in operating profit.
United Airlines, a unit of UAL Corp. (NASDAQ: UAUA), is one of the largest airlines serving Dayton International Airport.

UA management is burning through 6 million dollars a day from their crappy decisions. 3.9 million is barely an executive bathroom remodel. Anything to divert attention away from the fact that the ship is sinking from their poor leadership.

The numbers must be what Tilton lost in stock price during that time. Tilton received compensation officially valued at $39,700,000 it could have been 43,600,000 if they had not called in sick. *
