IMHO.....Comair/ASA will be merged, and IPO'd. Makes the most sense. Delta moves Fred into Comair with the intention of heading up both companies. Mother Delta saves big $$$$ on redundant management, etc... Closes down the GO in ATL, more savings.....Maybe then ASA will have the Comair contract imposed on them, which is ALMOST a win - win.

Apparently 79% isn't very familiar with how Delta manages Comair and ATL. The pilot groups have been trying to get them to merge for years, and Delta has said NO every single time. There isn't any real savings by merging the companies, anyways.

Yeah and I remember about 8 months ago, 550 pilots in DFW saying Big D would never de hub Dallas and move ASA totally out. Me included. Here I am finally moving to ATL in a week, so never say never.

I may be way off, but how do you figure??? Reduce 2 of everything to 1 of everything seems like a big savings to me......And if you are planning to IPO the new entity, no future need to whipsaw exists.

You'll get more investors ($$$$$) with 2 smaller companies (ASA and Comair) than you will with one larger one (the combined ASA/Comair). So I doubt this combining of both of us will happen.

He did talk about all the things that go into buying an Airline. But he was very Fishy about mentioning any of them. He did say they are looking at all of the factors like union VS. Non Union, type of equipment, location and more......... but he did not mention at all who,where and at what time.
