it is an interpretation of the meaning of rest for part 121...requested by ALPA. Essentially to me it says that at any time you are REQUIRED to answer a phone that cannot be considered rest. Doesn't that mean it is standby duty? Flops is conveniently not addressing whether or not you are on standby duty at that point, but we all know if we start pulling that card and refusing trips at the end of the 14 hour period which starts when we are required to answer that phone, that there will be a checkmark next to your name.

I do not feel proud or safe to work for a company that tries to find loopholes around the regs and am working on finding a new position.
