Corporate policy....

Thanks to all--great responses!!

Like "2EASYpilot" my research would lead me to believe that it is not legal to state any age....ADEA makes it illegal to discriminate on account of age in hiring OR RETENTION for anyone over the age of 40....no reasoning given from our company leadership for the initiation of an age 65 policy....lots of ramifications for social security benefits....

Thanks again!

I am good with it, as long as I have a week to recover :)

Yeah, but you were (I guess ARE "once a Marine....) a jarhead. Keep your head down and keep moving forward.:D

A week to recover? Did it take you a week to recover when you were 20? I rest my case! The science is settled!

We work with some real dainty folks out there.

We also do age 65. Quite a few of our guys have made it to that age or took the $ incentive to retire early. Nobody quits at my department, it was not usual to see 25 year vets with a couple that did over 35 years. Everyone is under 10 years now as all the old heads have taken their pensions and left. I do plan on flying international til 65 as my job is not that intense and I have never flown over 350 hours a year. With four kids, my job is my off time!

I much prefer the long flight with 1 TO/LND than the 7 I used to do with the commuter in the North East. I think you will find that few flight departments with those type of aircraft do those legs with 2 pilots.
