Anyone know much about Corning's Flight Dept. based in
Elmira,NY? Used to be a great job a few years ago.
Just wondering if it still is.
Thanks.

I saw aircraft for sale a while ago...
I thought they were doing pretty bad.

I know they closed the flight department that was in North Carolina and sold that 2000.

They used to have a very LARGE flight department in Elmira, lotsa pilots/airplanes/flying. That took a fairly big downturn a few years back. SInce then they have had a fair amount of layoffs, and fleet reductions.

They started with 2-Falcon 900's, 2-Falcon 50's, and 2-Dornier 328 Props... I have no idea what they've been left with after the cutbacks...

They actually had 3 900EX's, and two 2000's and two DO328's.
I know that they are operating at least one of each type still...

Here's the scoop folks....

They are currently operating two DO-328's (the prop jobs), two DA-2000's and two DA-900EX's.

It's been reported that their third 900EX (former Ford airplane) was just sold. The third DA-2000 (the NC airplane) was correctly reported as sold. (this occured last year).

Falcon Jet currently shows the remaining DA-2000's on the market.

Rumor has it that there were only a couple of layoffs..there was also some attrition. A couple of folks were offered retirements. It's likely they may hire this coming year in the event they stick wtih 6 planes, as more retirements come up...time will tell.
