Does anyone know if Copa airlines in Panama is hiring? If so street captains or FO's?

Thanks.

You mean Continental Central America Airlines???? I am not sure if they are hiring... However, I would give my left n*t to live in MPTO. I miss that place... :)

NO NO NO!!! That is Continental Owned Panamanian Airline...

Yes, and for captains and fos. Pero, usted necesita para hablar español.

NOT TRUE!

SEVERAL GRINGO's have been hired and DO NOT speak Spanish.

I know of several ex-SWA guys (over 60) and a few EOS guys come to mind.

They just hired a New VP of Flight Oerations, who is from UAL.

I have heard pay is really low. Something to the equivalent to a regional airline crew in the US. I spent some time in Panama while flying corporate and I can say that the cost of living is approx half of what we are used to here.

Panama is nice, and you can't beat the supply of CHICAS!

The new VP actually turned down a senior management position with UAL to accept the Copa job, he has been a line pilot. If he was looking from the inside out, that may tell you something about how he thought the Tilton show was running?

He probably is married and flew down there in the past and remembers the warm welcome.

Soo, anyone have any info on COPA? I know they are hiring but where do you apply? My friend just married a girl from panama is really thinkning about moving to down there since he can't find any flying jobs here on the states!

Much obliged, I'll spread the word.

Sorry for being an uneducated gringo here, but when they say "no expats", does that mean they're limiting themselves strictly to Panamanians, or does that allow for the occasional fellow Central American? Locals-only seems like a pretty small pool to draw from for a company of that size.

edit: Gotta say, CaptSeth, it's kinda inspiring seeing you get right back into the thread where you left off almost four years ago. Must be a true fan.
