Hello all,

wondering what the proper channels would be, specific people/depts, to work out jumpseat agreements. The major problem I'm going to run into for this non scheduled 135 outfit, is just that. We're non scheduled. I know however, that there are many carriers like this that in deed had have such agreements with regional/majors/135's etc.

Apparently I've been assigned to this "project" at this company and if any 135 guy out there that has done this before has those channels, or helpful info, please enlighten me. You can post here, or PM me. Thanks alot. Oh and you're more than welcome to hop on a repo around the boston area.

You'll be very hard pressed to get anybody to agree to a recipricol agreement. An air carrier looking at you operation will have to ask: "what's in it for us?" The answer is nothing. Without a schedule, their crews will never be able to utilize your aircraft to their benefit, while your crews will be able go everywhere.

The fact that your company has assigned you to this project says to me they are simply looking for a way to defer crew repositioning costs. The jumpseat is for the pilot's personal use, not the company.

Maybe somebody else can offer you some better advice, but I don't think you have much of a shot. Call the jumpseat coordinator at the airline you're interested in and ask them what it takes to get started. (I did the same thing when I was a 135 guy, and got the above explanation.)
