Guys,
Just getting another opinion ...

How many hours should someone have on type before they start offering themselves out for contract work?

If someone had approximately 100 hours of CE650 and 150 hours of CE550, plus type ratings; do you think they would be marketable for contract work? In your experience? Not really looking for left seat work, but I guess I would take it. I am more interested in building additional first officer experience first.

Just wondering.

Fly Safe,
Colin

Most insurance companies require at least 500 in type under the open pilot policy for left seat. Sometimes you can get around this by being named as a pilot on the policy. I don't know your total time but in my experience they'll want to see 3000 total to cover you in the left seat. As far as copilot, shouldn't be a problem as long as you are simulator current within the past 12 months.

Good luck
