Foxjet, here are some ideas. Contracting as an F/A can be a great source of income. Meaning if two people work in a shared environment. Contract F/A's daily rate is about 250.00 per day or 350.00 per day. If a contractor were on their own, this may be tuff. Even if the job paid 700.00 dollars per month for two days this would be good.
Contract can be difficult, you must pay for your own training as an F/a. I have paid for my training, through FACTS.
If you or your partner takes training through Facts, or Aircare Crews International, they have placement for short term contracts. If you elect or someone else to contract overseas, and I have done this, the money, income you recieve is TAX FREE, up to a certain amount.
