Continental Airlines Tops Customer Satisfaction List

Tuesday June 19, 1:08 pm ET

Continental Airlines Inc. has the most satisfied customers among U.S. network carriers, according to the latest J.D. Power and Associates 2007 North America Airline Satisfaction Study.

Houston-based Continental (NYSE: CAL - News) was 24 points clear of its nearest rival, Delta Air Lines Inc., for "customer satisfaction among traditional network carriers in North America," according to the study. It is the second consecutive year that Continental has won the award. It also was one of only two carriers to improve its scores in 2007.

Airlines were evaluated according to customer satisfaction in seven areas: Reservations, check-in, boarding/deplaning/baggage, aircraft, flight crew, in-flight services, and costs and fees.

"I believe this honor is a reflection of the consistent professionalism of my more than 44,000 co-workers," said Larry Kellner, chairman and chief executive officer of Continental. "They go the extra mile for our customers no matter what the challenge, offering the best customer service and the best product in the industry."

Yeah, those turkey sandwiches sure do beat a bag o' pretzels.

You know what - you're right, they do. I'll take a turkey sandwich with some carrots and a cookie/brownie anyday over some garbage peanuts or sun chips (referring to a particular airline out of Atlanta). And we have little pizza's as well...how about that.

My point is - at least it's some food, and relatively healthy at that. It's not surf and turf, but hey, it's a lot better than other fodder like sunchips or stale cheese crackers.

Delta might not have sandwiches, and may have sun chips, but at least we don't have hundreds of scabs either (referring to a particular airline out of EWR and IAH)!!

Wasn't the prior guy talking about pretzels and turkey sandwiches?

Yep. I haven't had the pizza on Continental, although once I was offered a ******************** sandwich by a Delta captain who would only take one jumpseater with 45 open seats.

That just means some CAL pilots had the balls to strike once upon a time. More than you can say for a certain ATL based airline that sold out the profession on the 3rd pilot.

BTW: We all know this JD Power stuff is just propaganda, right?

"Traditional Network Carriers". Now that's funny. Pretty soon they can advertise that they are the best airline "Based in southern Texas"
