John and Stanley will never go to France to be tried. Just not going to happen.

I'm curious however...was any determination made as to the proper installation of that strip on the Continental jet by the FAA?

The International Herald Tribune had a in depth story of this accident about a year later.
It was the best aviation article I ever read in a newspaper.

It's my understanding that the airport is responsible for removing FOD...does that not apply in Europe?
 
So a tire blows on the runway (which is an accident by the way) and Continental is liable?

Try to find the article:

1) out of aft CG
2) over gross weight
3) spacer missing in MLG
4) tailwind
5) FE pulled the fire handle 15kts below VMCA(2 engines)

still more, can not remember
