32 per month to CAL should result in about 25 per month leaving the top of the XJT Seniority List. Difference is due to people that elected to go to the street rather than flowback to Express.

The number could be well north of the 240 announced b/c I'm sure some bolted for SWA, etc., some are in active military service (THANKS!!!) and others said screw it altogether.

There is also the possibility that they could go all the way thru the furlough list due to people bypassing recall waiting to see what happens with the industry (terrorism, fuel prices, DAL concession, etc.) and any potential repercussions.

The sad thing is 240 is pretty close to the number of retirements over the next 18-24 months. So this is not exactly "increasing" staffing levels.
This isn't true either. Those 240 are just through Spring 05. The 25/month is supposed to continue indefinitely. It is absolutely for staffing increases from what I can tell.

The CAL pilots at Express cannot use the bypass option, they must go back when recalled. The CAL pilots who decided to go to the street have that option available. Therefore, they will never get to the bottom even if every CAL OTS bypasses. At least not on this recall.
