This is a video of the mom and the "Sweet Child" on abc news.

You tell me if you think the kid acted anything like he did on tv, while on the plane what would you do? The kid is a monster. I have a 2 1/2 year old, I know how my son acts and he would never act like this. Parenting goes along way. Looks like the poor mom and baby skit backfired on the News. HAHA

If it's not possible, then I suppose you'd better not take your 19 month old child on an airplane. That's why God invented the minivan.

How do you propose that minivan get me and my family back to the US from my duty station in Europe?

Is there a bridge out there for "families with young children" that I don't know about?

There is nothing wrong with kids on an airplane. There is something wrong with having a wild animal on an airplane. As long as a child behaves which i know isnt always easy but some parents dont "Parent" and keep their kids under control.

I was commuting on a CAL flight a couple years ago on a 767 and this one woman and child pissed off the whole rear of the plane. That kid was horrible and the parent couldn't keep the child under control. So what did she do? She let the kid RUN up and down the isles of the plane for 30 minutes. Back and forth.:smash:

If you're a real parent and know how to control your child, then it shouldn't be a problem. If you're a parent that refuses to use discipline and instead allows your child to control you, then please stay in Europe.

Transatlantic flights aren't something you have to worry about. How bad can kids be on 45 min legs? I'm also hearing alot of exaggerations about children's behavior on this thread - which is the same type of stuff being said by the same people on the mother/baby thread from a few months back. The kid was TALKING. He was saying "bye, bye plane." I've heard 10 times more annoying crap from people on cellphones prior to push, drunks unable to moderate their voices, old ladies who think everyone wants to hear about their vacation, and the list goes on and on. Is "controlling" your kid not allowing them to speak? Some of you people sound retarded.

None of us know all the details, but . . .

So, Rez, what is your solution?

Are you going to pull into the deice pad and conduct interviews as Captain/Inspector/Detective?
Are you gonna leave the cockpit so you can assert your authority so some uppity FA doesn't think she can control you?

Are you afraid of FAs taking over??? Running amok?

How about, "What's that? You say you were threatened? We'll go back to the gate and sort it out."

No, that's what the mother claims he was doing. If you watch the video of her and the little brat on that morning show then you'll see that this kid is far from a well-behaved little angel. The producer had to take the kid off screen so they could continue the interview with the "mother."

Time for parents to start acting like parents again.

Exactly!! :bomb:

Penland thinks her 19-month-old son, Garren, has a bubbly personality.
Translation: The child is a spoiled brat that's never been disciplined in it's life, and Penland thinks it's cute.

Sorry.....I know there are evil Flight Attendants out there but THERE IS NO WAY IN HE!! I would believe that any Flight Attendant would have the plane go back to the gate if some kid was merely saying "bye bye plane". GMAFB! You know the kid was probably being a terror.
