Train service (Amtrack) in the West, particularly the NW, is a total joke. Hours and hours late and there's only 2 trains a day - one in each direction going down the Valley. The only thing trains are good for our West is scenic tours.

At some hospitals, yes, they are.

You are correct, but not all. We actually have socialized healthcare already. My father-in-law (age 56) who never kept a job went into a Charity hospital in New Orleans complaining of chest pains. They accepted him right away for testing. He had 95% blockage in three arteries. Based on their budget they couldn't schedule him for emergency heart surgery right away. He didn't make it. Charity hospital called the day of his funeral to schedule the surgery. I had the pleasure of informing them of his current condition.

The biggest complaint of our healthcare system is the cost. Maybe we should figure out why it has gotten so expensive. Why do doctors, nurses, pharmaceutical companies, medical equipment companies, etc. have to carry more and more liability insurance? Could it actually be that americans want quality healthcare that is affordable easily accessible to all yet still have the ability to sue for millions of dollars for the slightest mistake?

Don't worry, no doubt we will have a government run healthcare system in the near future. Good luck suing them when they make a mistake.
