well, here it is, folks. sorry i was out of town all night, but thanks for the well-wishes. my 1,000th post. to clear up any doubt, i'm 22 years old.

man, seems like last week i was just in the 800's.... oh wait, i was. ha!!! i'm glad to be among the elite members like ailerongirl, flechas, mattpilot.... wait a minute, what am i saying? elite? HA!!! flechas, beer me!!! let's see if i can reach 2000 posts in fewer than 7 months :D

nope, no apartment yet. i am going down this thursday til saturday to find one. then i'm coming home, packing up, and driving down there. so i'll be there in... 2 weeks?

as for yesterday, my girlfriend had her college graduation party (she and her twin brother) and i went to her house for the day. sorry i couldn't get to the party before you passed out and fell face-first into User997's lap, but i had fun drawing a giant wang on your cheek ;)

no, flechas, she isn't moving down w/ me. she is staying in ohio to take classes for a year to better prepare her for either a masters or PhD psych program, though she said she's always wanted to be a Southern Belle and there are good psych schools in the south. But i'm not going to get ahead of myself. i have to survive flight training (i hope Leigh knows what she's getting herself into) and my g/f's gotta get accepted to a program somewhere. but we'll see. i built a little spending money so i could plan long XC's back to Ohio to visit her. :)

Sounds like a good plan. You are gonna have a lot of fun getting your ratings, and if you do some long X-C save them for your instrument to get those 50 PIC.

if i start early june, i figure that maybe by september i will have my instrument rating and that kind of stuff. what do you think, flechas? as of now, i think i am Leigh's only student and i won't have a job down there in FL (at least not for a while). is it feasible to get my PPL and instrument rating by september?

It always depends on the student and the instructor. I got a few people their private in as little as 1 month, so I'd say it's possible. And if you do the instrument 141 you can do it for sure in another month.
You just have to put a lot of time in in, which I'm sure you will.
Also make sure once in a while you take at least one day off, don't burn yourself, and don't make each flight too long, anythign over two hrs is counterproductive.
She is a good instructor and will take good care of you.

man....i remember about when i broke a grand, it was still a relatively small group, now look at all these people that are let in

j/k cforst, congrats

i must really be slackin off lately (or not slackin off enough) that i haven't been posting a whole lot...
