What if our competitors' pilots, who are just as good as we are, are willing to staff their planes at 100000 a year?

Remind me what happened to the competition's salaries last time we got a raise? Oh yeah... They all got raises to match our salaries.

Of course now that CitationAir and Flex are union shops, they are going to have to wait to open section 6 bargaining. But I am happy to help raise the bar for the industry.

You are right about Sokol, who would have damaged NJA further if he had stayed. I think the jury is still out on Hansell, the Boy Wonder.

The jury came back with a "Guilty" verdict the day he walked out of that meeting two minutes after it started.

Raising the bar creates an opening for a new startup company, and helps Options survive. Just sayin.

Like Skybus? :erm:

What happened with Skybus? Did they ever actually fly trips? They were sure gone in a hurry.
They were a start-up low-cost carrier out of CMH. They went out of business quickly. Just like any start-ups in your example would do.

Yes they flew trips.

Fisch, I think that is a dangerous attitude to have when one is on top. There are tons of businesses (Pan Am, Sears, Kodak, NorthWest, etc) that once on top never changed, stood by their old business plans, and got lazy........and then a new upstart came in and did the job cheaper, more efficient and better. One negative of being #1 is everyone is gunning for you.

Very true, and there used to be a time when the company welcomed the challenge because it made us keep improving ourselves! Unfortunately, this EMT has yet to figure out how to raise the bar. There isn't a creative mind amongst them. They only know how to cut costs at any price, even to the detriment of the financial well being of the company.
