O.K. Wil,

I re-read your post, mea culpa, sorry I jumped down your throat there. Gotta yell at someone, my wife won't let me scream at the kids and I would never yell at an FO. Just trying to say that none of us have the market cornered just be cause we:___________(insert favorite qualification here) Enjoy the last of your day off, too bad you have to go to "work". (I call it playing jet pilot)

Enigma,

You are correct, only one had Caravan only time. I see your point. By the way, I got to talk to your Chief Pilot the other day, he helped me out with some info gathering. (I'm putting together a CQFO program.) Nice guy, I apreciate his assistance.

Cheers

RJones....

There is no reason you should be pissed off at me. It is actually sad that some people could take me seriously. My post was definitely ridiculous but there are some people out there with a certain mentality which make a post like that plausible. I am a Part 135 driver but I respect anyone that does what we do for a living because I have been there. I am not an elitelist which thinks I am better than anyone else. Believe me. God bless...

I got a good laugh at your posting, but you're right about some folks out there with a mentality of "I'm better than you because I fly/flew........". It gets old.

From the SWA website on pilot qualifications:
"Flight Experience:
2500 hours total or 1500 hours TURBINE total. Additionally, a minimum of 1000 hours in Turbine aircraft as the **Pilot in command, as defined by FAR PART I is required. "

If I were you, I would get into the turbine powered caravan right away. They want turbine time more so than multiengine piston time I would say. We only fly jets/turbine 737s here, so that is the experience they want. I personally think they will be more impressed that way, that is why the mins are 2500 total or 1500 turbine. I'm not an interviewer, but I do work at SWA, and know that we hire based on how we like you and what you've done to get here, not strictly on how many hours you have. So build up the turbine time, you'll get more experience with them, and you'll get good work experience at the same time.
Just a thought.

If you meet the SWA minimum flight time requirement( as mentioned above), you WILL get an interview.

If SWA likes your personality, you will get the job.

No where does it say:

1. No caravan pilots need apply.

2. No twin otter pilots need apply.

3. No F-teen pilots need apply.

4. Yes, we take Aggies but only because we have to....sometimes.
