This time, it's not labor costs, per se, but the hurdles to attracting the professionals that the industry will need in the future.

The industry has changed, it is true. But to attract and retain quality staff in the future, there have to be incentives in the area of compensation.

No need to increase compensation, as there is a virtually unlimited supply of young, starry-eyed pilots with lower and lower experience levels who will take the jobs.
