1) Bid old airplane

2) Fly old airplane, get allergy

3) Go to allergy doc for diagnosis

4) Get told by doc that allergy is caused by mold, most commonly found in air conditioning ductwork

5) Tell company that you are sick until you can bid a newer airplane.

6) Company disagrees. You call OSHA and report not only the mold, but every instance of walking through a puddle of glycol you can recall for the last 10 years.

7) OSHA sends company a "cease and desist" order and informs them that not only do they have to replace all of the duct work in all of their airplanes, but also anyone who walks around an aircraft after de-icing has to wear a full hazmat suit with self-contained air supply. Company fires you for being a tattletale.

8) You counter-sue the company under the "wistleblowers" act and win.

9) Profit!

You know, SeaScab, I really have to laugh here . . .

AirTran, the company you know nothing about, but bash as being somehow less worthy than whatever dump would employ your ignorant, braying jackass self, has a contract that specifically states that the Pilot need only inform the Company that he is "unable to report for work" . . . period. Further, you won't hear squat until you have called out over 15 days in the year, and even then, you don't have to say squat.

Critter!! You're back critter. What's going on Mr. Bigshot valujet captain??!!

Actually the "dump" that employs my "ignorant braying jackass self" is Continental Airlines. I will say that it is unfortunate that a bunch of scabs in the Union (who were stealing money from all the pilots) really didn't give a shiit about the pilot group and had that clause put in there. But that was out of my control, and is besides the point. I am trying to find the federal and/or state labor law on this issue. Obviously you were no help. But thanks anyway for contributing absolutely nothing to this post. I'm sure the other guys on flightinfo appreciate it.

p.s. - remember when you get those hazmat forms in hotlanta that you can't carry the O2 generators in the cargo hold. OK, I'm out critter.

Sick leave, in my opinion, is not earned time off, but rather insurance to guarantee your pay when you are unable to work. If you are sick of mind or body, do not come to work.

Good thing your opinion doesn't matter.

Sick time is a contractually earned benefit. end of story.

Oh, you're "out", OK . . . . Out of the closet.

Critter was 10 years ago . . . wish I was around then, I'd be making $152./hr for flying a 737, which is $8./hr more than I would make at your carrier. I guess that is why you hate AirTran so much that you practically live in the Airtran threads. Get a life, Lady.

I'll admit, the CAL Contract suks. Contracts can change overnight. I can fly any of the Boeing equipment that I want to - B737/B757/B767/B777 and do any type of domestic, international, or combination of flying. Meanwhile, you're stuck flying domestic for your entire career. Actually, I don't hate Airtran. I have some friends who fly over there. I just like to get your blood pressure up, mainly cuz you're an as.shole.

I agree fully. A benefit to use when you cannot work. It is not a "take a day off when I feel like it" and screw your coworker and company.

Yawn . . . . I have a one hour on-line commute to the left seat of a brand new 73NG, and am in the middle of the 737 Captains list. You can keep your right-seat international flying, kid.

You'll have to work a lot harder than that to get my b.p. up . . . 107/60 . . . I just checked . . . . maybe you should try some of this AirTran action yourself . . and it's Captain As.shole to you . . ;)

Someone simply needs to have the union complain to the fed about HIPPA compliance at the airline, and request an audit. This will end all discussion of medical issues post haste.

Why are pilots always fighting over who works for the better airline. THEY ALL SUCK (now that TWA is gone ).:)

Seahorse...A good friend of mine is a CAL pilot and I asked him about all this scab theft within the union. His reply was that with the last MEC there was only 1 scab on it and only a couple of others on the various LEC's. He also said that ALL of them were stealing and crooked including the non scabs. Further he said that none of the negotiating commitee were scabs.

How about a benefit to use when you cannot 'walk' because of the bula-bula you so richly enjoy from management?

Yes, your friend is correct.
