Anyone got any low down on Commuting to DTW. I'm new to the 121 world. I need a place to stay while paying my dues as a reserve FO and I'm stuck on whether or not I can get away with not having a vehicle in DTW. If anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Reserve is going to be short.. we are still VERY short on the FO side. I'd guess maybe 2-4 months tops... This is not going to last for much longer though as the CA upgrade side is slowing down.

Most newbies find they no longer need a crash pad afer 4-5 months (depending on where you may commute from). Use that info wisely when signing a lease...

No car, your pretty much restricted to a crashpad at the Barrington or a Hotel.

Say hi to the couch and Einsteins for me....

What is the Barrington and how do I contact it? Are Einsteins the newbies?

I need a DTW crashpad in 2-3 weeks - can bring car would rather not - I think I might not be DTW based for long.

Barrington is the DTW crashpad for just about every company.
I understand it has a $3.00 per trip van that will transport you to and from the airport.

Einsteins is the bagel store on the B concourse. Cheap food for crew members.

you may want to look on the private board, recently there was some DTW crashpad info...
